LIBERTINA "BETTY" (VERDONE) VAUGHN

92, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter H. Vaughn, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Beatrice (Faraone) Verdone. She was a stone setter for various jewelry companies in the Providence area for many years until her retirement. Libertina was a communicant of St. Bartholomew's Church. She was a member of the Cranston Senior Center.

She is survived by her loving children, Walter H. Vaughn, Jr. and his wife Stella of Cranston, Robert G. Vaughn, Sr. and his wife Carolyn of Warwick, and Beatrice A. DiFormato and her husband Domenic of Cranston. Libertina was the cherished grandmother of five and the great-grandmother of eight. She was the sister of the late Ernest, Caesar, and Vincent Verdone, Jr., Rose Orchoff, and Florence Montagano.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bartholomew's Church, 297 Laurel Hill Avenue, Providence. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum, in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
