LEONARD "CLYDE" CARLUS BURNS

78 , passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Kent Regency. He was the husband of Marie (Palombo) Burns for the past 59 years. He was born in Tryon, N.C. a son of the late Leonard B. and Della (Burrell) Burns.

Mr. Burns was the owner and operator of ABC Drilling Corp., an Artesian Well Drilling Co for more than 40 years until his retirement. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Beside his wife he is survived by his children, Donna Salvatore and her companion John Rego of Warwick, Jeanne Archer and her husband Bill of Heathrow, FL and Rebecca Castriotta and her husband Victor Jr. of Cranston. He was the grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 4 and brother of Gloria Phillips of Columbus, N.C., Wiley Burns of Advance N.C. and the late Ruth Newman, Betsey Champion, Dallas Pace and Beatrice Burns.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the NARDOLILLLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:30am. VISITING HOURS will be held on Friday from 4-8pm. Interment, with military honors, will take place in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
