LAURA M. (SAVONE) PALOMBO

97, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at home. Laura was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Palombo. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Ardovino and Laura (Flaminio) Savone. Laura managed the carding department at the former Coro Jewelry Manufacturing Company for forty-seven years before her retirement.

She is survived by her loving daughter Donna M. DiOrio of Providence. She was the cherished grandmother of Renee DiOrio and her husband Michael Matonti, and the great-grandmother of Michael DiOrio-Matonti, all of Providence. Laura was the sister of the late Mary Calise-Ruzzo, Frank, Pasquale, Anthony, and Matthew Savone.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
