Lareto "Ray" Guglietta 85, of Applehouse Drive, Cranston, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge, MA. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Albina (Lorocca) Guglietta. He was an Insurance Agent for the John Hancock Insurance Company for thirty-seven years before retiring in 1983.Mr. Guglietta was a WW II veteran serving in the US Navy stationed on the USS Orion in the Asiatic and Pacific theatre. He was a Past President of the City Hall Athletic Club, member of the Tabor Franchi Post V.F.W., member of the Cranston Rod and Gun Club and the St. Mary's Feast Society. Mr. Guglietta was a former Scout Master of Troop 1, Knightsville and Troop 16, Cranston. He was a dance instructor for the Home for the Aged at Knightsville Manor. Mr. Guglietta was associated with the Gold Star Mothers, a past basketball coach for St. Mary's C.Y.O. He was a member of the A.F.of L.-C.I.O and a local office committeeman for Local #61 A.F.of L. Mr. Guglietta was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He is survived by his two sons; Lt. Lareto P. "Larry" Guglietta, Burrillville Police Department and his wife Donna of North Scituate and William R. Guglietta, Esq., Legal Council House of Representatives, Municipal Court Judge, Cranston and his wife Judy of Cranston. Mr. Guglietta was the grandfather of Lareto P. Guglietta Jr., RI Dept. of Corrections, of Cranston. Lareto was also the loving companion of Ruth LeBlanc of Milford , MA. He was the husband of the late, Edith (Meier) Guglietta , the brother of the late, Joseph and Claudio Guglietta, Nancy Mancini, Josephine Mulvaney and Antonetta Romano. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
