Lang Souphida, 85, of Cranston passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Vientiane, Laos, he was the son of the late Xieng and Gnang Souphida. He was the beloved husband of the late Amphone (Pathammavong) Souphida.
He immigrated to the US on January 15, 1981. He was very proud of his Laotian roots; he was even the Past President of the Laotian Association of Rhode Island. He attended temple regularly and enjoyed a good communion with the Laotian community. He enjoyed family time and looked forward to visits from his grandchildren. His favorite pass time was fishing and anything outdoors.
He is survived by his children Marsha Souphida and her spouse Lamgneun Saengchanthavong, Bangone Litthisack and her spouse Souky Litthisack, Phetsamone Souphida, Thinnakone Souphida and his spouse Sokhary Souphida, and Anousone Souphida and his spouse Lina Sun. He was the grandfather of Sean Litthisack, Sornrham Saengchanthavong, Seth Litthisack, Arouny Souphida, Arianna Souphida, Joranni Souphida, and Alani Lang Souphida. He was the brother of Bounlap Soompholphakdy, and Chanthalop Souphida.
His Buddhist Prayer Service will be held on Monday February 19, 2024, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. VISITING HOURS (Wake) will be held on Sunday February 18, 2024, from 4:00 -7:00pm.
