Junior A. "Free" Couto

Junior “Free” A. Couto, 42 of North Providence passed away on Saturday November 16, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Born in Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Ivonne Rivera and Raul A. Couto. He was devoted companion to Megly Mateo, since the age of 14.

Free was a dependable friend to many, always offering a helping hand. His sense of humor, and ability to lighten any situation with his countless jokes, were something he was known for. He was a hard worker, that provided for his family often working several jobs. Above all he was a devoted father, grandfather and an amazing brother. His family was his greatest accomplishment and gave him an immense sense of pride.

Besides his beloved Megly, he is survived by his children Michelle Mateo, Joel Mateo, Ashley Couto and Mayley Couto. He was the proud grandfather of Leovanni Mateo, and Lexilani Mateo. He was the cherished brother of Waldermar Couto, Steven Rivera, Stephaine Rivera, and Saul Rivera.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday November 30, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00pm at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. With a prayer service beginning at 7:00pm. Burial will be private.
