Julia Anna (Parrillo) Ferri

Julia Anna (Parrillo) Ferri, of Lakeland Florida, passed away on November 7th.  She was 92.

She was born to Mary J. Ferrante and Thomas Parrillo on June 28, 1928 in Johnston, RI.

She is predeceased by her husband Gabriel V. Ferri, her brother Thomas J. Parrillo and his wife Barbara and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Parrillo.  She is survived by her sons Russell G. Ferri, Steven V.  Ferri and his wife Susan, her daughter Gail Ferri, her brother Walter Parrillo and his wife Patricia, her grandchildren Gina Ferri and her fiancé Christopher Munzer, Andrea Weiss and her husband Robert, Matthew V. Ferri, and her great grandpuppy Teddy.

She was a homemaker first and foremost, and her and her husband raised their three children in Cranston, RI and Tewksbury, MA.  They enjoyed road trips to Rhode Island beaches, White Mountain attractions, and the Maine seacoast.  She worked at the Tewksbury School department while her children were small, and when she retired to Lakeland, she volunteered as a foster grandmother in the Polk County school system, which she thoroughly enjoyed doing.

She was thrilled when her each of her three grandchildren were born and the adoration was mutual.  She took great pleasure in taking them to places like Disneyworld, Cypress Gardens & Weekee Watchee.

She loved cooking, and everyone loved to eat her home cooked meals and especially looked forward to her Christmas cookies.  She was an avid reader of romance novels and loved to travel.  She will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11am in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston.  Her burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
