45, passed away Saturday April 21, 2012 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and closest friends after a courageous four month battle with cancer. Judith's passing was blessed with God's grace and loving compassion; a true and precious gift in honor of the way she lived her incredible life. She touched the hearts and souls of many, but none more than her beloved husband Colonel James M. Vartanian, and their three wonderful sons James, Christopher and Matthew. Jude was a deeply devoted mother and wife, who lived for family and in the service of others. Judith was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Ann (Leone) Brown of Cranston, and the loving sister of Carlene Damato and her husband Anthony, Raymond Brown and his wife Deborah (Rasile) and Michael Brown and his wife Dawn. She was also the dearly loved daughter-in-law of Moorad "James" and Marie Vartanian of Cranston and was the sister-in-law Maria Giannini and her husband Victor. Judith was also an adoring aunt to Kristiana, Michael and Nicholas Giannini, Anthony Damato, Theresa and Raymond Brown, and Olivia and Michael Brown. Judith was a lifelong resident of Cranston and an active member of Holy Apostles Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Judith was an ardent supporter of our nation's military; she selflessly provided military spousal and family support to troops serving in the 43d Military Police Brigade, Rhode Island Army National Guard where her husband serves as the Deputy Brigade Commander. Additionally, Judith was always actively involved in her sons' school and sporting programs and was a Den Leader in Cub Scouts, Pack 8 Cranston for many years. Judith was a 1984 graduate of Cranston High School West, and a 1988 graduate of Bryant University. She was formerly employed as an accountant by GSM Metals in Cranston. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Apostles Church 800 Pippin Orchard Rd. Cranston at 10am. Judith will be laid to rest in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8pm.
