JOSEPHINE M. (KONZE) MARTUFI
JOSEPHINE M. (KONZE) MARTUFI, 94, formerly of Waterman Ave., Johnston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at RI Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James G. "Jake" Martufi. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Quinn) Konze.
Josephine was an inspector at B.A. Ballou & Co. for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crossword puzzles, swimming, vacationing in Maine and spending time with her family and friends.
She was the devoted mother of Lois Riess of Narragansett, Gail Manzi and her husband David of Cranston, Robert Martufi and his wife Joyce of North Providence, James Martufi and his wife Patricia of Mapleville, and the late Marie Maglioli; loving grandmother of 12; loving great-grandmother of 15; and dear sister of the late Joseph Konze and Margaret DiChiaro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
