JOSEPHINE A. (DE SIMONE) LAURO

72, of Silvercup Circle, West Warwick, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. She was the former wife of the late Anthony Lauro, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pelligrino and Angelina (Armenti) DeSimone. Josephine was a social worker for many years until her retirement. She was also an active volunteer in her community and held a Masters in Adult Education. She was the loving mother of David Iavarone of West Warwick and the late Lori Brouillard. Josephine was the devoted grandmother of Jamie and Erik Brouillard and Michael Iavarone all of West Warwick. She was also the sister of Mary Lapati and Anthony DeSimone of West Warwick, Matthew and Ralph DeSimone of Cranston, John DeSimone of Providence and the late Steven and Carmino DeSimone. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church , 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence 02904 and Roger Williams Medical Center, 825 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence 02908.
