passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21 at her daughter's home in Narragansett surrounded by her devoted children. She was 98 years old. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend of many who filled every day she lived with much laughter and joy. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Carmella, the youngest of 12 siblings. She was the devoted wife of the late Guido for almost 50 years. She is survived by her children; Jean DeLuca and her husband Norman, Frank Antocicco, Norma Bessette and her husband David, Linda Antocicco and her companion Louis Varone and Michael Antocicco, her eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. "Josie" was an accomplished dancer and continued to entertain with her gift well into her 80's. She was a member of the "Sassy Seniors", a troupe that traveled through Rhode Island and Massachusetts performing for residents of nursing homes and community centers. In 1994, she was proudly crowned First Runner-up and Miss Congeniality in the Ms. Senior Sweetheart of Rhode Island pageant at the age of 80. Josephine loved to perform, loved to meet new people and loved sharing her positive message of living life to its fullest. Josephine's family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Hospice of North Kingstown for their attentive and expert care. And in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Beacon Hospice Care of NK, 7291 Post Road, North Kingstown. www.beaconhospice.com. Remember that you're a dancer. So when the chance comes to dance, "and it's there every day, you just have to recognize it", you need to take hold of the other person's hand and dance. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11am in St. Bartholomew's Church Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be private.
