PROVIDENCE
Joseph P. Trombetta Sr. 87, of Killingly Street, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Morgan Health Center, Johnston. He was the husband of Marie (Buratti) Trombetta. They were married for the past sixty-three years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Peter Martin and Mary (Pintarelli) Trombetta. Mr. Trombetta was a superintendent for the H. Leach Machinery Company of Providence for over thirty years. He was also the co-owner of Sunnyside Jewelry Company of Providence before retiring in 1992. Mr. Trombetta was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Navy. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Elaine M. Signore and her husband Chuck and Joseph P. Trombetta Jr. and his wife Linda, all of Southport, NC. He was the grandfather of Nicole S. Valentine and her husband Tom of Warrington, PA, Scott J. Trombetta of Surf City, NJ and Michael J. Trombetta and his wife Jen of Floriston, CA and the great-grandfather of Dylan T. Valentine. Mr. Trombetta was the brother of the late Ida Mello. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
