Joseph J. Rezendes 83, of Overland Avenue, Cranston died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Kent County Hospital, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of M. Olive (Landrie) Rezendes. They were married for fifty-six years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel R. and Maria (Medeiros) Rezendes. Mr. Rezendes was a steel worker employed by BIF Industries in Providence and East Greenwich for thirty-five years before retiring in 1982. Prior to working at BIF, he was a licensed auto mechanic and was the owner and operator of the former E&J Gulf Station in East Providence for fifteen years. Mr. Rezendes was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Union. He resided in Cranston since 1952. Besides his wife he is survived by his devoted children James J. Rezendes and his wife Catherine of North Kingstown and Paula J. Wiesner and her husband Wayne of Coventry. Mr. Rezendes was the loving grandfather of Katie Rezendes, Caroline Rezendes, Jessica Wiesner and Eric Wiesner. He was the dear brother of the late Manuel R. Rezendes, Jr., John Rezendes, Mary Miranda, Vange Almeida, Elsie Mello, Lillian Viveiros, Delinda Rezendes and Antoinette Wockin. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
