Joseph P. McMahon

of Narragansett passed away March 17th surrounded by his local siblings after a sudden illness. Raised in Pawtucket the son of the late Mary Patrice(Schuette) and Paul McMahon.  Joe, graduated from NEIT Automotive Program with his Associates Degree. He worked for many decades at Ed’s Garage in Riverside, RI. Upon retirement, he moved to Narragansett,  Joe was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus with the St.Francis Council 2011, North Kingstown where he was the inside guard for many years.

He was a happy wanderer, always ready for the next trip, European river cruise or Christmas Markets with family.  He always had a smile as he greeted all who came into the 11am Mass at St. Veronica’s Chapel and everywhere he went.

Joe is survived by his siblings: Paul B., Jr of Narragansett, Robert P. (Ellen) of North Carolina,  Mary F. (Richard Whitaker) of North Carolina, Stephen J. (Brigitte) of Virginia, Mark W. (Kay) of Riverside RI and Catherine A. with whom he lived. He also leaves two nephews Sean P.(Kacie) and Micheal R. of Virginia, fur-nephew Harley, two Aunts Judith McMahon of Barrington,RI and Shirley Schuette of Virginia, numerous cousins around the world and honorary siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11am in St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett.  His Mass will be live-streamed and may be found at  www.StThomasMoreRI.org.  Burial will be private. VISITING HOURS Tuesday from 3-7pm in the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory - SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. St Mary’s Abbey, 300 Arnold St., Wrentham, MA 02093.
