87, of Cranston, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at home. He was the beloved husband of Filomena "Fannie" (Pelosi) Martini. They were married for fifty-eight years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Luigi and Assunta (Caporala) Martini. Mr. Martini was a presser for the former DonRite Dry Cleaning and Tailoring Company for many years before his retirement. He was also employed as a shipper for the former Luna Creations Jewelry Company. Joseph was a member of St. Mary's Holy Name Society. He was a past commander of the John Ruggiero Post #78, Cranston and a past chaplain for the Cranston Veterans Council. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during WW II. Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, JoAnne Sperlongano and her husband Pasquale "Pat" of Coventry, Louis A. Martini and his wife Deborah of Warwick and Rachel S. DiSano and her husband Joseph of West Warwick. He was the cherished grandfather of seven and the great-grandfather of two. Joseph was the brother of Jennie Cotoia of Florida and the late Vincent, Armand, Anthony and Edward Martini and Adeline O'Bier. He was also the grandfather of the late Jennifer Ann DiSano. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
