JOSEPH P. MARRINAN, JR

78, of Estero, FL and Narragansett, RI, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret T. (Murphy) Marrinan. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Spellman) Marrinan.

Affectionately known as "Nike Joe", he was the owner of Marrinan Associates National Sporting Goods Association in Warwick. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, Boston College, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Marrinan was the devoted father of Margaret T. Galligan and her husband Stephen of West Newbury, MA, Elizabeth Rizzo and her husband Richard of Cathedral City, CA, Joseph P. Marrinan, III and his wife Janet of Saunderstown, RI and James M. Marrinan and his wife Kelly of Fort Meyers, FL; loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren; and dear brother of the late Robert Marrinan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett, and may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Rd., (Rt.1A) Narragansett on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
