Joseph Charles Manera, Jr.

age 77, passed away on November 17, 2024. Born on November 30, 1946, he was the beloved child of the late Joseph and Helen (Cortellessa) Manera.

 Joseph lived a life of dedication and public service. He was known for his intelligence and dedication to helping others, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

 Joseph served in Vietnam from 1969-1971. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island, where he studied Political Science, and he received his JD from the University of Maine. He ran a successful law practice and was a probate judge for the city of Cranston for three years. Joseph was respected and admired for his strong work ethic and commitment to his clients. 

 Outside of work, Joseph volunteered as a Big Brother and served on the board of the Rhode Island chapter of the organization for fifteen years. He was passionate about film, literature, and cuisine, and he was a fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots.

 Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Marie, who he was married to for fifty years, his children Lisa and Joseph, their spouses, and two grandchildren, Roman and Helena. 

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 21st at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr., Cranston. Burial with military honors at St. Ann Cemetery will be private. VISITING HOURS are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston.
