JOSEPH J. MALAGA, SR

67, of Hay Meadow Place, Oak Hill VA, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband for 37 years to Elizabeth Ann (Deter) Malaga. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Catherine (Martullo) Malaga. He was a program manager for Hewlett Packard Company for many years before retiring and was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Besides his wife, he was the beloved step-father of Bev Browning and Robert P. Flanagan; loving father- in-law of Rhonda Malaga and loving father of the late Joseph J. Malaga, Jr. He was the cherished grandfather of Joseph John Malaga III, Domenic Malaga, Jennifer McGregor, Hope McGregor, and Michael McGregor; cherished great-grandfather of Aerabella Heigl; dear brother of Vincent Malaga and his wife Ann; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
