Joseph Maiorano 89, of Fernbrook Court, Cranston, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at home. He was the devoted husband of the late Ruth A. (Dwyer) Maiorano. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Raffaele and Domenica (Cionfoli) Maiorano. Mr. Maiorano was employed by the former United Supply Company of Warwick for over fifty years. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Army. Mr. Maiorano was a communicant, alter server, choir member and was a Past President of the St. Joseph's Guild at Immaculate Conception Church. He was also a communicant and choir member of Assumption Church for over twenty-five years. He was a member of the Nelson Mack VFW Post, Cranston, Life Member and Past State Commander of the VFW. He is survived by his loving children, Joseph W. Maiorano of California, Ralph S. Maiorano and his wife Delores of Cranston, William R. Maiorano of Rehoboth, MA, Susan M. Fanning and her companion Emanuel of East Providence. He was the cherished grand father of six and the great-grandfather of two great-granddaughters. He was the loving brother of Anna Weinberg, Vincenza DiFillippo both of Cranston, Frank Maiorano of Narragansett and Mary Maiorano of Cranston. Joe loved his New York Yankees, having weiners at Wein-O-Rama where he would go every Saturday and playing his lottery tickets at Oaklawn Liquors, staying for a while to talk to Jimmy and the gang. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
