Joseph Maggiacomo Jr., 78, of Scituate Ave., Cranston, passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 at R.I. Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Moretti) Maggiacomo.
Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Guilia (Ciccerone) Maggiacomo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Maggiacomo was the President and CEO of the former Greater Providence Trust for many years, before retiring. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Joseph Maggiacomo, III and his wife Angela of Plymouth, MA and Maria C. Mayoh and her husband Scott of Providence; his two granddaughters, Daisy Jo and Chiara-Mariska; a brother, Edward L. Maggiacomo of Cranston; and his three sisters, Assunta Iaciofano of Lincoln, Mary Grimaldi of East Providence and Elaine Ruggieri of Narragansett. He was the brother of the late Biagio Maggiacomo and Gloria Zito.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 5-8 p.m.
