Joseph Maggiacomo, 94, of, Cranston, passed away, Tuesday May 6, 2008 at Cedar Crest Nursing Centre, Cranston. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Conti) Maggiacomo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Raffaela (Stamegna) Maggiacomo. Mr. Maggiacomo was a supervisor for the former Imperial Knife Company of Providence for 42 years before retiring in 1979. He was active in the Cranston Senior Center, and the Knightsville Senior Center. Mr. Maggiacomo was the man of the year in 1989 and a volunteer with the Cranston Senior Center for over 17 years, and in 1999 he was the outstanding senior volunteer. He was the devoted father of Barbara DiSpirito and her late husband Salvatore of Cranston, and Joseph Maggiacomo and his wife Elaine of Johnston, loving grandfather of Steven DiSpirito, Kevin DiSpirito, Joseph, David and Lauren Maggiacomo, and loving great-grandfather eight great-grandchildren, and dear brother of Etta Ricci of Cranston, and the late Mary Capotosto and Anthony Maggiacomo. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church Cranston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
