Joseph Longo 85, of Chandler Avenue, Cranston, died Friday, January 4, 2008 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Mary (Ragosta) Longo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Guiseppe and Rochetta (Marra) Longo. Mr. Longo was a superintendent for Campanella and Cardi Construction Companies for thirty years before retiring in 1985. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Army with the 911th Field Artillery Battalion. He is survived by one sister Evelyn M. Pari of Providence and one brother Cosmo L. "Louie" Longo of North Smithfield. Mr. Longo is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Frank Longo, Mary Nasiatka, Mafalda Belasco and Gilda DelCarpini. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
