JOSEPH A. LOMBARDO SR

89, died Sunday July 10, 2011. He was the loving husband of the late Anita (Farina) Lombardo. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Antonio and Angelina (DiMuccio) Lombardo.

Mr. Lombardo was the founder of Community Fruitland, Cranston.

Joe was a WW-2 Army Veteran and a former member of the AMVETS, Jupiter, FL, Cranston Lions, Aurora Club, he served on the Board of Directors of the RI Grocers Association, was a cooperator at Citizens Bank and a founding member of RIARC.

He is survived by his three children Joanne Lombardo of Cranston, Joseph A. Lombardo Jr. and his wife Maria of Narragansett and Anthony F. Lombardo Sr. and his wife Lisa of Cranston, his six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Marie Iacono, Ralph, John and Raymond Lombardo.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, West Warwick at 11am. VISITING HOURS Wednesday morning 8-10am. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
