With grace and peace, Joseph Michele Imperatore, 94, a lifetime resident of Lincoln, passed away on Tuesday, May 25th 2021. He was the husband of Dorothy (Fornaro) Imperatore. They were married for 72 years. Joe was born in Providence, son of the late Michele and Angela (Ricci) Imperatore. He proudly served in the United States Navy and upon completion of his duty in 1946, he worked with his brothers Edward and Raymond as a crane operator at Imperatore Steel in Cranston. Joe was a proud member of IUOE - Local 57 for over 50 years. Meanwhile in 1962, Joe founded the first portable restroom rental business in New England (Porta John Inc.)
Joe was always active in his spare time. His passions included golf, both locally and internationally with his close group of friends. His hobbies included tennis, fishing and sailing. He was also a jack-of-all-trades fixing and building various projects for his friends and family. In his late 80’s, he taught himself boat building and built two wooden hull boats.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children; Michael Imperatore and his wife Dina of South Easton, MA, Judith Imperatore and her husband Michael Florio of Tolland CT, Patricia Imperatore, of Branford CT and Joyce Imperatore Pemberton of Lincoln. He was the beloved grandpa of Michael Allen and Sarah Allen.
Joe was the brother of the late Edward Imperatore, Ida Rosenfeld, Lillian Cotoia, Helen Hallem, Catherine Ottiano, Ralph, Romolo, Raymond and James Imperatore.
