of Bonita Springs, FL formerly of Cranston died on January 23, 2022 in Naples, FL. He was born in the Bronx, NY a son of the late John J. and Sonia V. (Strakowski) Herbold.
Mr. Herbold was an Administrator employed by the Cranston School System for thirty-three years, retiring in 2003. He was a 1971 graduate of Providence College. He was a Math Teacher and Guidance Counselor at Western Hills Junior High School, then Assistant Principal and Director of Guidance at Park View Middle School, prior to Director of Student Information for the Cranston School System.
He was a member of CASA, National Education Association, National Retired Teachers Association, Past Chairman and member of Yawgoog Alumni Association of Providence, member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club, member of the YMCA and the Boys Scouts of America. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Bonita Springs, FL and St. Veronica Chapel, Narragansett.
He leaves his brother and sister-in-law, Richard F. and Nancie H. Herbold of Hingham, MA and a niece, Stacey Herbold in Maine.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 6-7pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. His burial will be private. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yawgoog Alumni Project Fund, 223 Scituate Avenue, Cranston, RI 02921 https://donations.scouting.org/#/council/546/appeal/4915
