JOSEPH GENTILE

JOSEPH GENTILE, 85, of Overland Ave., Cranston, passed away Friday May 2, 2008. He was the husband of Mary (Melleney) Gentile.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rosina (Guarino) Gentile. He lived in Providence before moving to Cranston in 1952. He was a WW II Army Veteran.
Mr. Gentile worked as a window installer and salesman for various companies, and also was a heating engineer for the State of RI, Department of Human Services for 10 years before retiring. He was secretary treasurer for the Penn Central Bowling League for many years. He enjoyed bowling and the New York Yankees.
Besides his wife, he was the beloved father of Carol (Gentile) Paliotta and her husband Joseph, and dear brother of Mario Gentile, Salvatore Gentile, Peggy D'Andrea, Josephine St. Amont, Rosalina D'Amico and the late Virginia Ribezzo, Ann Piacitelli, Theresa Villa, Mary Kemmler, Viola Cazzaro and Helen Scitorelli.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston at 10 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
VISITING HOURS Monday 5-8 p.m.
