73, of Warwick, passed away on November 30, 2010 at R.I. Hospital in Providence. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Florine (Tella) Fuoco. Joseph was employed as an organist for many churches throughout the state for 40 years including St. Bartholomew, St. Brigid's, St. Rocco's, and Shawmut Baptist Church.
Joseph was a prolific writer and historian who was an editor for the Echo newspaper, writer for the Federal Hill Gazette and published multiple books including, Images of America: Federal Hill, Passengers and Kings and Downtown Providence in the Twentieth Century. He was also a gifted artist as he spent much of his time drawing, painting and sculpting. Joseph was a talented musician as well as he wrote music and taught piano lessons to students throughout Rhode Island for decades. His love for classical music and literature was unparalleled. Joseph also enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family including his nieces and nephews who affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Joey."
Joseph was the brother of Thomas Fuoco and his wife Judy of East Greenwich and Linda Miale and her husband David of Johnston.
His funeral services will be private.
