JOSEPH COSTANTINO

PAST PRESIDENT, COLUMBUS DOOR CO. , 80, of East Greenwich, passed away October 27, 2010 at Kent County Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 21 years of Carol (Coleman) Costantino and son of the late Erminio and Giovannina (Colannino) Costantino.

Mr. Costantino was past president and principal of Columbus Door Co. At a young age he worked alongside his father, a great artisan and mentor, as the business evolved with his brothers from ornamental iron works to architectural doors and hardware. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a corporal in Dixie Division and was a lifetime member of the Door and Hardware Institute and a member of the Federal Hill Lions Club.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving sisters, Angelina Burton, Velia Costantino, Erma J. Appolonia, Virginia Grande and her husband Kenneth, and Beverly Rosedale and her husband Peter, and his loving brothers, Aldo, David and his wife Nancy, Richard and his wife Rita, and William and his wife Marcia. He was the brother of the late Marie (Costantino) Simeone and Ralph Costantino. Joseph was much loved by his many nieces and nephews and his pride and joy and constant companion JoJo, his German Shepard.

Besides his love of Columbus Door, Joseph was a sports enthusiast, loved politics and enjoyed traveling. He and Carol hosted many parties at their home that he loved most dearly.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston at 11:00 a.m.

Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
