of Providence passed away peacefully, Friday October 19, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Antonetta "Etta" (SanAntonio) Checrallah who predeceased him on 6/3/2007. He was born in Providence, the son of the late Mazed J. and Matilda ( Harfouche) Checrallah. Mr. Checrallah worked for the State of RI Department of Labor and Training for 25 years retiring in 1986. He also worked in the business office at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence for 25 years. He was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Boston University, and Boston University Law School. Mr. Checrallah did volunteer work at the Attorney General's office in Consumer Affairs. He was a member of the Fruit Hill Day Center and was a communicant of St. George's Marionite Catholic Church in Pawtucket. Mr. Checrallah was a US Army Air Force WW II veteran. He is survived by his loving sons, Joseph P. Checrallah Jr. and his wife Maria of Hope, David G. Checrallah and his wife Kathy of West Warwick, his devoted siblings, Mitchell G. Checrallah of NY, Mary Caron of West Warwick, and Josephine Checrallah of Westerly. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew and Daniel Checrallah and was the loving father of the late James A. Checrallah and the brother of the late Miner P. and Charles T. Checrallah. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Raymond's Church, 1240 North Main St., Providence.
