Joseph Calabrese

91, of Johnston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Riccitelli) Calabrese for over 60 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michele and Rose (Ferrucci) Calabrese.

Besides his wife Angela, he is survived by his loving children, Dr. Joseph M. Calabrese and his wife Michele and Jill Calabrese Bain and her husband Ian, all of Mansfield, MA. Cherished grandfather of Thomas and Joseph Calabrese, and Andrew and Emma Bain. Brother of the late Anna Calabrese Atwill.

Joseph was a proud graduate of Providence College Class of 1954 and a lifelong supporter of Providence College athletics, passing down his love of sports to his children and grandchildren. Joseph was kind, humble and hard working. He was an educator, a business owner, founding the Farmington Insurance Agency in 1960, a board member, and a dear friend to all who knew him. To know Joe was to love him.

The Calabrese family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of his caretakers and the staff of Cherry Hill Manor.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27th, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Johnston. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
