JOSEPH D. BUONAIUTO

84, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2012 at home surrounded by his devoted family.

Born in Providence he was the son of the late Gaetano and Carmela (Vona) Buonaiuto.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Evelyn (Garrow) Buonaiuto. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Joseph Buonaiuto of Powell, OH, Camille Durante and Lynne Chalmers both of Cranston and Kenneth Buonaiuto of Scituate; his stepchildren Kathleen Floor of Scituate, Susan Harris of Attleboro, MA and Elizabeth Pace of North Providence; sixteen grandchildren; he was the brother of Teresa Buonaiuto of Providence, Lucy Buonaiuto of Johnston and the late Anthony and Edward Buonaiuto. He also leaves his loyal Dachsund Nel.

Mr. Buonaiuto was a Registered Pharmacist graduating from the RI College of Pharmacy in 1951. He was the owner of the former Silver Lake Pharmacy, Chief Pharmacist for the Department of Corrections and a staff Pharmacist at Miriam Hospital from where he retired. After his retirement he continued in a volunteer role at the Miriam Hospital Pharmacy. He was a Coast Guard Veteran of WW-II.

His funeral will be held on Friday at 9am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston at 10am.
