90, of North Scituate, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Alba) Vinacco. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Louis and Lucrezia (DiMauro) Vinacco.
John was a US Marine Corps veteran. After his military service he worked as a silversmith for Gorham Silver for many years before retiring. John was also the President of the former Union Ice Cream, the first ice cream company in Rhode Island. John enjoyed cross country camping with his family of seven, Saturday nights at Twin Oaks with his beautiful wife and Friday nights playing cards with his brothers.
He is survived by his loving children, John J. Vinacco, Jr. and his wife Linda Baro-Vinacco of Poquoson, VA, William A. Vinacco, Sr. and his wife Joyce of Cranston, Lynne Vendettuoli and her husband Mark of North Scituate, Robin Guglielmetti and her husband Reggie of Clayville, and Elaine Dinges and her husband Scott of North Scituate; cherished grandchildren, William A. Vinacco, Jr. Andrea Vinacco, Michael Vinacco, Alaina Bouchard, David Vendettuoli, Daniel Vendettuoli, Brianna Guglielmetti, Rodney Guglielmetti, Bronte Dinges and Anton Dinges; great-grandchildren, John “JJ” Vinacco, Luca Vinacco, Zachary Vinacco, Wesley Bouchard and Cayden Pytka. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Richard Vinacco, Anne Vinacco and Lucrezia Bailey. John was predeceased by his siblings, Hope Parillo, Joseph Vinacco, Evelyn Voccio, Lucy Almagno and Anthony Vinacco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 4th at 10:00am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Johnston. SEATING WILL BE LIMITED. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. His burial with military honors is private.
