JOHN R. VALLANTE, SR

John R. Vallante Sr., 74, of Simmonsville Avenue Johnston, formerly of Bianco Court, Providence, died on Monday February 18, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the husband of Gina (Tagliaferri) Vallante. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Carmine and Elsie (Santagata) Vallante. Mr. Vallante was a Providence resident most of his life. He was a postal employee with the U.S. Post Office for over 40 years. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters: Joan Demers and her husband Steven of Coventry, Gina Vallante and her fiancAC. Robert Anderson of North Providence. Two sons: John Vallante Jr. and his wife Rossana of Providence, Robert Vallante and his wife Suzanne of Bristol. Grandfather of Steven Demers Jr. and Joseph Demers. Brother of Carmine Vallante of Johnston and Richard Vallante of North Providence. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street Cranston at 10:00am. Burial, with military honors, will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Wednesday 4-8pm.
