88, of Cranston passed away at home after a long illness, surrounded by his wife, Angelina (Zaino) Soscia of 58 years and family members. Johnny was born in Cranston, the son of the late Pasquale and Maria (Ruggieri) Soscia. He was a lifelong resident of Cranston one of eleven children being the forth eldest of the siblings. He was a Navy Veteran of WW-II, later self Employed specializing in Home Improvement retiring from active contracting business in 1994. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cranston. The front yard of his home was a "must stop" for people to socialize with Johnny and his family as the annual St. Mary's Feast Parade passed by his home. He was actively involved in many social activities and social clubs including the Elks lodge # 14, American Legion Post 174, Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Feast Society and Club Jacques. He enjoyed being with his immediate family, playing cards with friends and had a lifelong passion of Horseshoe pitching against champions proudly displaying his many trophies. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister Anna Rotondo, brothers, Anthony and Pasquale Soscia and was the brother of deceased siblings Rocco Soscia, Blanche Morra, Mickey Graziano, Arlene Resendes, Emma DiRaimo, Georgianna Fraccola and Mary Keneally. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue Cranston on Saturday at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church 1525 Cranston Street Cranston at 10:00am.
