John Seamans

John Seamans

89, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Morgan Health Center in Johnston. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine F. Kane. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Antonina (Mineo) Seamans.

John worked as a technician for the U.S. Rubber Co. for many years before his retirement. He left Hope High School to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he served during World War II. He was stationed in India, Burma, and the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

He is survived by his loving children, Stephen E. Kane and his wife Andrea of Stonington, CT, and Edwin F. Kane and his wife Barbara of West Greenwich; cherished grandchildren Ryan and his wife Becky, Laura and her husband Henry, Matthew and his wife Britt, Melonie, Grant, and 2 great grandchildren; dear sister Emily Lepizerra of Cranston, and the late Mary Gomes.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be Saturday morning from 8:15 - 9:15 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will take place in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Dept. of R.I., 1 Capitol Hill, Level G, Providence, RI 02908.
