JOHN H. SALISBURY

69, of Stony Acre Dr., Cranston, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family after a 3 month battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Mary J. (Hayman) Salisbury for 49 years. A life long Cranston resident, he was a son of the late George J. and Dorothy H. (Smith) Salisbury.

John had been a chef at the former Marcello's Restaurant and Greenwood Inn and was a Food Service Supervisor at CCRI in Lincoln prior to becoming Maintenance Supervisor at the former Seville Dyeing in Woonsocket. He also had been a volunteer at St. Paul's School in Cranston for several years. He loved golfing, bowling, cooking for his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his devoted children John, Jr. and his wife Dawn, David M. and his wife Donna, Steven P. and his wife Lisa and Lisa M. Salisbury. He was the cherished "Poppa" to Michael, Mark, Corey, Courtney, Katie, Lauren and Stefanie Salisbury. He is also survived by his brothers Dennis, Wayne and Patrick Salisbury and his sister Margaret McKenna. He was predeceased by siblings Anna Schoonmaker, Emma Luz, Samuel Pagliarini, George, Jr., Everett, Charles, Frederick, Francis and Kevin Salisbury.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.

VISITING HOURS SUNDAY 4-8 p.m.
