John J. Roderick

89, of Weston, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was the beloved husband of M. Shirley (Sousa) Roderick for 67 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John Roderick and Beatrice Patenaude.

John was a US Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Korean War Era. After his military service, he went on to become to co-owner of Mearthane Products Corporation with Frank Ronci, where they had claim to such customers  as Xerox, Kodak, US Military, Nike and Reebok to name a few. It was there that his two sons, Anthony and John, joined him at the company. He was selected by the US Chamber of Commerce as one of the Top 50 Small Businesses in the country.

Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by his loving sons, Anthony G. Roderick and John A. Roderick, both of Scituate; cherished grandchildren, Travis Roderick, Jodie Roderick, Kauri-Lynn Sartini, John D. Roderick, Tyler Roderick, and Jared Roderick; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Autumn, Zaiden, Jared and Bodn. He was the dear brother of the late Terri Lancaster.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Wednesday at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Cranston. Entombment will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS will be held on Wednesday morning from 8:00 – 10:00 am.
