JOHN JOSEPH REARDON JR


64, of Bedford Circle, Narragansett, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at home surrounded by his wife and children after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Barrington, he was a son of the late John J. Reardon Sr. and Ellen (Halton) Reardon. John was a financial representative for Northwestern Mutual for 40 years and had been president of the NM Financial Representatives Association from 1992-1993. He was also a proud member and past president of the Wakefield Rotary Club and Rotarian of the year for 2008. John was an avid golfer and was on the Board of Directors of the John P. Burke Memorial Fund. He was past president of the Narragansett High School Boosters club for many years and a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jane (Rigney) and 4 children; William and his wife Heather of NH, Patrick of CA, Kathryn of MA and Ellen of NJ and his two beloved granddaughters, Molly and Madelyn Reardon. He is also survived by his 5 siblings, Kathleen Kennedy of CT, Margaret Wilson of CA, Elizabeth Reardon of TN, Michael Reardon of NY and Martha Temple of CT. and their families. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 9th at 8:45am from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1a) Narragansett, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street Narragansett at 10:00am. Burial will follow at New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8th from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John P. Burke Memorial Fund, 1 Button Hole Drive, Suite 2, Providence, RI 02909 or Home & Hospice Care of RI 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.
