John L. Pepin

John L. Pepin

93, of Wakefield, formerly of Warwick passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024. He was the devoted husband of the late Hilma M. (Linden) Pepin for sixty-four years. 

 Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Lester and Mary (Campbell) Pepin. 

 A US Army Veteran, he served in the Special Forces as an Airborne Ranger and Jump Master during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a Train Conductor for Amtrak for thirty-nine years before retiring.

 He was a Deer Hunter and an avid Striped Bass fisherman; he enjoyed fishing on the boat with Glen Corsetti and had caught a 56 pounder. He also enjoyed Scuba Diving and Tennis. He was a member of the Warwick Sportsman Gun Club in Exeter and served as a volunteer Fireman in Warwick.

 He was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church and was a member and an Elder at Grace Presbyterian Church in Spring Hill, FL.

 He leaves three children, John E. Pepin (Marsha) of Spring Hill, FL, Marilyn A. Sousa of Spring Hill, FL and Karen E. Corsetti of Wakefield; five grandchildren, Joshua Pepin, Adam Pepin, Jason Sousa, Christy Carnavale and Glen Corsetti, Jr; and nine great-grandchildren. He was the father-in-law of the late Glen Corsetti and William D. Sousa, Jr.; and brother of the late Gladys Richardson, Charles, Lester and Raymond Pepin.

 His funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory – SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 1111 Boston Neck Road, (Rt. 1A), Narragansett. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITING HOURS Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
