84, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Coventry Skilled Nursing Home, Coventry. He was the husband of the late Mary (Lungi) Padula. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Domenic and Maria (Petrarca) Padula. Mr. Padula was a meat cutter and manager of the Meat Department at Stop& Shop for thirty-three years before retiring in 1983. John was a member of the Meat Cutters Union Local #328, and the Kelley & Gazzero VFW Post. He was a US Army Air Force veteran serving during WW II. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and visits to the casino.
He is survived by his two sons, John A. Padula, Jr. and his companion Donna Coccia of Cranston and Joseph V. Padula of East Providence. John was the brother of Lucy Ciolli of W. Warwick, Anna Coppa of Warwick, Elizabeth Petrarca of W. Warwick, and the late Anthony Padula, Stella Pontarelli, Marion Petrarca, and Grace Ambessi. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston Street Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
