100, of Cannon Street, Cranston, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Home and Hospice Care of RI in Providence. John was the husband of the late Amelia (Petrella) Minicucci. Born in Caserta, Casale, Tiano, Italy, he was the son of the late Cosmiro and Pasqualina (Salvati) Minicucci. John was a jewelry designer for 45 years until his retirement. During WWII, he designed a mass production of service pins worn by the soldiers as part of their uniforms. John served on the Governor's Council of Nutrition for many years and received many awards and citations for his services for Meals on Wheels at the Silver Lake Center in Providence, RI. He is survived by his children John Minicucci, Jr. and his wife Annemarie of West Warwick and Theresa Daigle and her husband Richard of Cranston. John was the grandfather of Elizabeth Ruest, Stephen Minicucci, Richard Daigle II and Tracy Daigle and also the great grandfather of 6. He was the brother of the late Maria Teresa Tutalo, Antonetta Pitocco, Emily Conca, Maria Ullucci, Gregory and David Minicucci. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Visiting hours and entombment will be private.
