89, of Naples, Florida and Johnston, Rhode Island passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Annemarie (D’Aguanno) Minicucci. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Amelia (Petrella) Minicucci.
Besides his wife Annemarie, he is survived by his loving children, Elizabeth Ruest and her husband Thomas, Stephen Minicucci and his wife Kathleen; cherished grandchildren, Michelle Silva (Henry), Danielle Al-Hamdouni (Tarek), Stephen Minicucci II, Kara Comella (Michael); great-grandchildren Joseph, Aria, Isabella, Rafi, Benjamin and Jonathan. He was the dear brother of Theresa Minicucci Daigle.
John attended Rhode Island College of Pharmacy and worked for many years as a pharmacist in Rhode Island. Within a few years, he earned an education degree to teach science and math at Riverside Junior High School in East Providence. He spent 30 years in that position while also achieving a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling. Most of his life he worked at both careers simultaneously. Even though he retired 30 years later, he never stopped learning, creating and living a full life. He also spent many happy years living on Cape Cod Bay.
In addition to his dedication to his careers, John was a very talented and skilled craftsmen. He built two homes on the Cape for his family to enjoy as well a country home in Foster, Rhode Island.
John was an avid gardener who produced abundant vegetables to share with family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, fishing and cruising the bay with family.
John’s main accomplishment, however, was his family. Surrounding himself with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren provided him happiness and pride. His generosity was unsurpassed and his love was endless. In return, dad and papa were deeply loved and appreciated. He will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00am in Our Lady of Grace Church, Johnston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
