JOHN J MELE

59, of Johnston, passed away unexpectedly on Monday Jan 21st 2008, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital No. Providence, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of School Committee President, Janice D. (Acciardo) Mele. They were happily married and best friends for over 35 years. He was born in Providence a son of Sue (Femino) Mele and the late John P. Mele. John was the President of Architectural Store Fixtures, Inc. for 36 years. He was a member of the NRA, Wallum Lake Gun Club, and the John O. Pastore Lodge. John was an avid fisherman and hunter, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Besides his beloved wife Janice he is survived by his loving daughters, Alicia A. Mele-Bendza and her husband Irek, and Amanda A. Mele-Faucher and her husband Michael. He was the cherished "Popa" of Olyvia Bendza and Landon Faucher. John was the brother of Robert Mele and his wife, Donna, Joseph Mele and his wife Kathy, and Dennis Mele. He is also survived by his nieces, Deborah, Cristen, and Jessica. His funeral will be held on Friday at 10 am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME 1278 Park Ave. Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave. Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Thursday 5-8 pm.
