83, of Cranston passed away on Thursday June 7, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (D'Antuono) Macera for 54 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francisco and Concetta (DiLibero) Macera.
John was a laborer for Gammino & Cardi Corporation for many years. He also worked for the State of RI as a custodian at the IMH in Cranston. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by his loving children Ann Marie Babin and her husband Bill of Monroe, NY; his loving son John Macera and his wife Diane of Cranston. He was the beloved father in law of Albert DeCubellis of Wilmington, NC; beloved father of the late Maria DeCubellis. He was the adoring Grampy of Meghan, Rebecca, Daniel, Brendan, Joshua, Hannah, Katherine and Maggie. John was the dear brother of Margaret Merluzzo of Cranston, Lucy Conti of Johnston and the late Joseph and Armando Macera.
His funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Living Waters Foursquare Gospel, Church 251 Stillwater Road, Smithfield, RI followed by interment in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
VISITING HOURS WILL BE HELD AT THE CHURCH ON MONDAY FROM 4 -8 P.M.
