JOHN A. "JACK" JACKNEVICH, 95, of Fisher St., North Providence, passed away Friday March 28, 2008 at Golden Crest Nursing Home, North Providence. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Durante) Jacknevich.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Teofila (Cykevic) Jacknevich. Mr. Jacknevich was a WW-II Army Veteran holding the rank of Staff Sgt. in Company B. 175th Infantry, and also was awarded many medals including the Bronze Star.
Mr. Jacknevich was a Certified Gemologist and was manager of Zales Jewelers for many years, before retiring.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean Pearson of North Providence; his granddaughters, Tracy Langlois and her husband Jeff and Kerri Bruneau and her husband Tom; his great-grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Matthew, Jeffrey and Ryan; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father-in-law of the late Dean Pearson, and brother of the late Mary Booth and Helen Jacknevich.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Casimir Church, Providence at 10 a.m.
Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
