John "Jack" F. Trainor, II

 83, passed away on August 7th, at Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient center, with his family at his side. Born in Providence, a son of the late John F. Trainor, and Florence (Gorman) Trainor. He was the husband of the late Paula (Chirchella) Trainor, for 47 years.

John was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Providence College, with a Masters Degree from Boston University. He worked for the State of Rhode Island Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for 29 years before retiring to Bonnet Shores in Narragansett. He served as a member of Company A, 19th Special Forces group as a jumpmaster, from 1963-1970 in the RIANG. John was also a pilot with instrument rating who enjoyed sailing, hockey and golf for most of his life. John is survived by his son John Trainor III and his wife Valerianne of South Kingstown, his grandchildren Gabriel, Josephine, Adeline and Angelina. He is the brother of the late Adeline Lyons.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory-SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 1111 Boston Neck Rd. (Rt. 1A) in Narragansett on Wednesday August 14th 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial with Military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery.  Calling hours will held on Tuesday, August 13 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
