JOHN H. HESFORD

69, of Simmonsville Avenue, Johnston, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 peacefully at home. John was the husband of the late Carmella "Millie" (Gesmondi) Hesford. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Lester and Margaret (Falconer) Hesford. Mr. Hesford was a proud member of the Teamsters Union Local 251 for 37 years before his retirement and had been employed for New Penn Motor Express. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Johnston and The American Legion. He was a US Navy Veteran and had served aboard the Aircraft Carrier Forrestal. One of John's greatest passions was his love for the beach. John is survived by his three children; Scott D. Hesford and his wife Janine of Scituate, Jeff A. Hesford and his wife Jenn of Johnston and Kristen Pontarelli and her husband Robert of North Providence. Mr. Hesford was the cherished grandfather of Gianna, Alexsa, Jake, Lily and Mason.

His funeral will be held from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston at 9:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday 4:00-8:00 p.m.
