John S. Gaspar 79, of Woodland Ave., Cranston died peacefully on Saturday August 11, 2007 at Roger Williams Hospital, Providence surrounded by his family. He, along with his wife Gloria were founders/owners of John Gaspar Photographers for 60 years before retiring and turning the business over to John Jr. He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria J. (Natalizia) Gaspar; they were married for 54 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Augustine and Rosaria (Costa) Gaspar. He lived in Providence until 1962 when he moved to Cranston. He was a member of the Nickerson House, Providence where he began his professional career. John loved being with his family and friends, and was always eager and willing to help others. He enjoyed his retirement and winter vacations in Florida, and simply being with his family and friends. John was a devoted father and is survived by his sons John J. and Kenneth A. Gaspar of Cranston. He leaves sisters Mary Carosi, and Georgelina "Dot" Toolen along with his brothers Manuel and James Gaspar. He was the brother of the late Angelina Hollis.
