JOHN F. "JOHNNY THE BARBER" FUSCO, 83, of Cranston, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah "Sally" (Malian) Fusco. Born in Cranston, a son of the late Domenic and Bettina (DelBonis) Fusco, he was a lifelong resident of Cranston.
John was the owner of Johnny's Barber Shop in the Lakewood section of Warwick since 1954. He was a WW-II U.S. Army Veteran; a Board Member of Cranston Community Action Program for over 30 years; a member of City Hall Athletic Club; and a life member of Weight Watchers for over 30 years. John enjoyed spending summers at his home in Bonnet Shores, Narragansett surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted father of Diane M. Fusco and her husband Donald McWeeney of Cranston, John F. Fusco, Jr. and his wife Sheryl MacDougall of North Kingstown and Mary Elizabeth Fusco and her husband John McIlmail of Cranston; loving grandfather of four; and dear brother of Mary Mansolillo and Theresa DiSalvia, both of Cranston and the late Josephine Ruggieri, Anne, Arthur, Frank and Philip Fusco. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Cranston St., Cranston at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be at North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
