John F. Ruggieri

John F. Ruggieri, 88 of Cranston passed away on Tuesday October 22, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Angelina (Capirchio) Ruggieri. He was the beloved husband of the late Connie (Merolla) Ruggieri.

After graduating from LaSalle Academy, he went on to study at Johnson and Wales University. He was a long time Building inspector for the State of Rhode Island, and a realtor that was always involved in real estate, alongside his wife Connie. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Feast Society, and a member of the Santa Maria di Prata Society. Growing up in the Knightsville section of Cranston, he proudly celebrated his Italian heritage, always looking forward to the St. Mary’s feast. His love for his family was unmatched, he was a proud and doting grandfather. He enjoyed his time in Florida, and spending time with his friends. John was an avid card player, and enjoyed bocce. 

He is survived by his children Deborah L. Catamero and her husband Vincent, Diane L. Vaughn, and John G.F. Ruggieri- Lam and his husband John. He was the cherished grandfather of Shannon M. Young, Courtney D.Young, Robert J. Vaughn, Jennifer H. Vaughn, Giovanni Ruggieri-Lam and Santino Ruggieri-Lam. He was predeceased by his siblings Gloria Ruggieri, Mary Santagata, Esther Carnevale, Viola DiBatisita, Olive Ruggieri, Anna Rinaldi, Carolyn Wells, and Rose Grande. 

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at 11:00 am at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. VISITING HOURS will be held from 9:00- 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Home, 1 St. Elizabeth’s Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
